Attached are several photos of some scaup that were seen on Lake Mendota in Madison, Wisconsin, USA. The photos were taken October 19th of this year.

In the field I ID'd them as Greater Scaup due to head shape. Greaters are unusual for this location (I have only ever seen Lessers there previously). What do you think?

all look to be greater scaups, basically on head structure.

Greater for me also, mostly on head shape.

I would say Greater too, as that is a very rounded head.

Thank you all for your input. That is what I thought, but as they are uncommon in WI away from the great lakes, I figured I would check.
