2 Alpen compact Shasta Ridge (1 Viewer)

I already have a full-size Alpen Shasta Ridge (8x42). Looking to buy a compact binocular for when bicycling (exercise, birding, photography).

Alpen has these 2 models. Do those measurements look right? I am guessing the last number is the length? Seems a big discrepancy with the first number (2 vs 4). The last model is a 8 x 26 (vs the 25 of the first model).

One is a roof prism measuring 2x4x4 (8 x 25)

One is a porro prism measuring 4x3x5 (8x26)

We don't have that brand over here so just a guess based on a compact and reverse porro I have. Give or take about a 1/4", bent to an average IPD, 4" long and 3 3/4" wide for both seems about right. The roof might be 1 3/4" deep and the reverse porro about 2 1/4". There may be a little more difference flattened out.

Other details here.

Thanks David. The measurements for the 8x25 model is missing. Decided to call Alpen Optics and the person provided the exact measurements

8x25 roof prism.
L 4.25". W 4.50". H 1.50"

8x26 porro prism.
L 4". W. 4 3/4". H. 2 3/4"

The porro prism I have been told has the slight edge in clarity in lower light due to its coating. I am looking for the more compact model to use while bicycling so purchased the 8x25 roof prism which is 1 1/4" lower in height which should make it easier to squeeze into a small handlebar bag.
