inspired by recent trip to Sabah

Two animals I saw but didn't get photos of in Borneo. So I decided to paint them instead.. Whitehead's Broadbill and Whitehead's Pygmy Squirrel.

Thanks Bigshent, it's soft pastels and pastel pencils on pastel paper. I've just invested in a pad of velour, bit scared to start using it. has anyone got any good tips for working in this medium?

Malay Weasel is wonderful, did you work from sketches or photos. Did you use other equipment to see up close?

Here's a few more from my trip. I was so delighted to see a Banded Linsang crossing the road on a night drive in Danum and we also found a Bornean Tarsier on a night walk there. Finally at Tabin we got Slow Loris!
