After my big year in 2014 (see here: http://www.birdforum.net/showthread.php?t=275144) this year will be a bit more relaxed. I started the year in India, another trip to India is planned in April/May (the northeast) and hopefully a trip to Namibia in summer.
Like last year the taxonomy follows IOC and lifers are in bold.

On the first day of the year I arrived in Coimbatore in the morning. However, my local guide was nowhere to be seen and after a few calls he admitted that he forgot me. I took a taxi to his place in Kerala and finally I could do some birding in late afternoon.

In the morning drive from Thattekad to Mudumalai in Tamil Nadu. Higher up and totally different vegetation. A dry forest with interspersed grassland patches. Home of tigers and elephants and good birds. Long walk in the afternoon around Bokka Puram, a village close to Masinagudi with a local guide.

Yesterday a day out to the mountains in the Valais. We missed the target species (Bearded Vulture and Red-billed Chough), however who can be disappointed after a day with Wallcreeper, Golden Eagle, Rock Bunting and Cirl Bunting!
Today an outing with the local society to a hilly area near Winterthur and this time we found the target species: Three-toed Woodpecker. We had stunning views of a male, very close to us.
