African Barbet
Just a quick Query - The Barbet in the database as d'Arnaud's Barbet looks to me like an Usambiro Barbet in having a blackish rather than pinkish bill. Also the location - probably Masai Mara, is right for Usambiro. These two are considered conspecific by some, but I notice they are down as two species on the database list. I don't have any guides with me right now to give any useful references, and I'm away from computers for a few days (camping in Cornwall!) but I thought I'd post this for anyone who wishes to deliberate over!

While I don't particularly fancy this split, you're right - the one listed as a D'Arnaud's Barbet in the BF database actually is an Usambiro (and therefore should be moved to the correct entry in the database).

This has been done and is now shown as a Usambiro in the DB.
I have put a comment on to that effect on the gallery picture. Thanks. |
