Stonefaction
Dundee Birding....(target 150 in 2024).
Looking through photos taken at Loch of Kinnordy RSPB reserve in eastern central Scotland on Sunday (7/2/16) I was struck by how brick red the left hand Snipe looked compared to the others. Somewhere in the back of my mind I recalled that "Faroeensis" race Snipe were much redder, and checking the Challenge Series : Autumn book earlier tonight I at least got confirmation of that fact even if the photos in the book didn't help me too much. Unfortunately my photos don't show too much detail (ISO bumped up due to poor light and rain) and I suspect that it is most likely just a reddish 'normal' Snipe but......just in case, here's the pics.....
