Hi - i'm looking forward to this site so much, I'm brand new in this bird watching world. One of my first questions is that since I have a bad memory that when I see a bird I quickly go to look at my book to see what I just saw but then can't quite remember the finer details. What is available on the market that could help me??

Thanks in advance

Hi Eye wonder and a warm welcome to you from all the Staff and Moderators.

LOL I suffer from that problem too! Don't try to remember the 'finer' points at this stage. Concentrate on the bill and tail and overall colour/s. The bill is the most important, really, as it will tell you whether you're looking at a raptor, seedeater, wader, honeyeater, etc.

Don't panic.... just enjoy!!

You may find the Tips for New Birders forum useful, and looking at the pictures in the Gallery too.

Good luck.
