Agree with Nile Valley Sunbird (pink bill base) but Black-headed Bunting doesn't seem to be on the Djibouti list and I can't see a yellow vent on this bird. How about f Ruppell's Weaver?

It's possible. The first country checklist I looked at did not list House Sparrow, which influenced my suggestion, but the Avibase one does, albeit as an introduced species. It may be that it has a restricted distribution and I don't know if it's present in this area.

Hmm. Any final thoughts? Unfortunately I only got three pictures of the bird, and all in the exact same position. This one shows just slightly more of the underside.
