Thumbs up Bushcrafting and Bird watching in Sweden

Just got back from instructing on a bushcraft course in Sweden, it was held in Varmland near Arjang, It was serious Bushcraft and Bird watching heaven first day i was there i canoed out to an island and floated just off shore and watched a pair of nesting Osprey, absolutely awesome the other delights was near hand tame Nut hatches, tree creepers and wagtails, Green and greater spotted woodpeckers galore but the highlight for me was the pair of Black Woodpeckers which was nesting next to our base camp, these birds are one of the most striking i have ever seen , the bird life did not need and field craft to get close to it was amazing, on the lake i also saw Goosander, arctic tern and Black-throated Divers which was also another awesome sight! So many other birds i didnt recognise and i forgot my bird book!DOH! Apart from the Bird life there is also Elk, beaver,Lynx, Deer, Red Squirrel (first time i ever saw one! fantastic! ) and you can hear the wolves crying of an evening from across the lake! im still buzzing so i apologise for a rambling and energetic post! LOL, its cheap as chips to get there by Ryan Air and public transport is the way to go, the people are very friendly and speak excellent english , the landscape breathtaking and the birding well speaks for its self!
