Why, considering the Goodies were so huge in the 1970s, have their shows not been endlessly repeated on digital and cable stations à la Monty Python and Fawlty Towers? Why did this much-loved show vanish when it should for so long have been part of our cultural fabric? (For those of you not around at the time, think of the current success of Little Britain, then double it - The Goodies was that big). This 90-minute special attempts to explain just what happened, and why. Preview tapes were not available, but the show will combine documentary footage with some of The Goodies' best-loved moments. There'll be audience participation, too, thanks to the central conceit, whereby Graeme Garden, Bill Oddie and Tim Brooke-Taylor break into their old studio to take questions from an audience. VP 8566 Saturday 31st *T BBC1 2.45 - 3.45 am Sign Zone: Unstoppable Wave VP 211219 T Channel 4 3.35 - 4.25 am Wild Things VP 8809238 T Channel 4 4.25 - 5.10 am Wild Things VP 9191870 *T BBC2 6.00 - 7.00 am Dinosaurs and Duplicity - The discovery of dinosaur bones by amateur geologist Gideon Mantell in September 1824 and the 1953 revelation that the Pitdown Man, hitherto regarded as one of the most significant archaeological discoveries of the 20th century, was an elaborate hoax. VP 62035 Sunday 1st T BBC2 1.05 - 3.25 am Live 8 Story No VP no. T Channel 4 4.25 - 5.10 am Wild Things VP 8700410 T BBC2 10.00 - 10.30 am Animal Park VP 60401 *T BBC2 10.30 - 11.15 am Life in the Undergrowth - Fly on the Wall VP 2301975 Last edited by A CHAPLIN : Friday 23rd December 2005 at 21:30. |

Hi Delia,
I am glad I typed that in bold as I am sure there are a lot of us want to see it. I was surprised it wasn't shown as a repeat so must be brand new. Right time of year to show it too.. Enjoy your happy memories. Best Wishes for Christmas and a Happy New Year Ann |

I've just been into the Islay Birding News website and discovered that poor Jeremy has broken his collar bone and won't be fit to do any tours until after the new year.
We went out for the day with him and learnt so much. A great guy. His website is: http://www.islaybirding.co.uk/birding-news.asp for anyone interested. D
