swifts
first 2 swifts over house today heading North East. For some reason today i stumbled upon Walsall Football clubs nicknames "The Saddlers" and "The Swifts". I know they are called the saddlers becuase of Walsalls history of making saddles (Leather museum and all that)..but anybody know any connction for nicknaming them the swifts? or just chosen becuase it sounds good?

That's a new one on me Seb. Everyone knows about the 'saddlers' nickname, but I've never heard of the other one. Where did you hear of it?

The club was originally called Walsall Town Swifts FC, from a merger between Walsall Town and Walsall Swifts.
