Thursday 5th Benington
61 Hawfinch Friday 6th then it was into Cambridgeshire to visit Grafham Water for 62 Great Northern Diver 63 Common Gull on to Ouse Washes 64 Tree Sparrow 65 Song Thrush on route to Welney 66 Stock Dove 67 Collared Dove 68 Bewick Swans 69 Greylag Geese 70 White Fronted geese 71 Sparrowhawk (I dont have the list of the Friday - Pete was going to post that, so some birds will be in the list for Saturday!!) On route to N.Norfolk 72 Brent Geese At Titchwell where we sped to see Bean Geese...which no one there saw!! 73 Woodcock

Thursday 19th January
I managed a trip to Suffolk to see friends who live at Bury St Edmunds and a trip to see friends at Caister!!So birding and great company. A mate took me to find the Iceland Gull in Sussex...and nearby Gosport!!A whizz out to Epsom for Waxwings!! Just love 'em!! (no particular order) 124 Med Gull Glaucous Gull Ross's Gull (I love those pink legs!!) Stunner. Common Crane Taiga Bean Geese Lesser Scaup Scaup Hen Harrier Merlin Little Bunting (this time sitting up and showing well) Dartford Warbler SE Owl (wooow) Humes leaf Warbler (in a blokes scope!! sheer luck!!) Lapland Bunting (thought I'd seen one last January now I've seen it I really cant remember seeing it then!!) Golden Pheasant (Thought they were shy, one walked past my car!!) Great Grey Shrike Ring Billed Gull Hoopoe Iceland Gull Laughing Gull (at roost !!) Waxwing 145 Bittern

Dipped on RL Buzzard (going to Sheppey on Sunday- talons crossed)
Little Gull ( I didn't see it!!) Shorelarks again!! They were seen but not there when I looked- dont think they really exist!! My blocker so far ...last year and this!! Went to see Arctic Redpoll....may have seen it - found the flock of Redpolls....but they were really flitting about and so I may have missed it!! Couldn't be in a tree at Titchwell like last year...all three species in the scope at one time....oh no!!) I also have never seen so many Scoters....hundreds!!! This should be on the other post..!!
