White-billed Diver / Yellow-billed Loon
Just wondering if any other BF users have ever seen Great Northern Diver (gavia immer) do a "head toss" or "throw" its head in flight in a similar manner to Red-throated Diver (gavia stellata). I have yet to experience this and have seen plenty of both species in flight.
White-billed Diver (gavia adamsii) do this quite regularly and I'm beginning to wonder if this may actually be a diagnostic feature.
