Equipment for first birding holiday
My wife and I have been backyard birders for years but this year we have decided to take a trip just for watching birds. So in May we will be going to the Flyway in Canada.
My question is what sort of equipment should we take? I am of course going to take a camera and lens etc. but what are the basic clothes and gear should we take? Art Schlaman Downers Grove, Illinois USA |

Hi Art!
I have no idea about what to wear in Flyway Canada (I'm in sunny Scotland) best bet is to keep it light and waterproof and you cannot go wrong with dark greens and make sure its a quiet jacket (no rustling in the bushes) also Monopod are great out in the field. Hope this helps, have a great trip and don't forget to let us know how you get on. Cheers Brian |
