boring day here today--weather

its rainy, its cold, 6 inches of snow expected yet this is the first of spring! we had in our feeders today, grackles, starlings, finches, goldfinches, doves, juncos. all the usuals. but we did have a red wing blackbird that seemed to hang out with the grackles..and a few robins that stood still enough for me to get a good shot. going to oregon for 3 weeks and hope to see some new birds. thanks for looking

It has rained since Friday but I'm not complaining. It is a good slow soaking rain that as of yesterday was over 2 inches. When you have been as dry as we have been then it feels good to see the rain. Rain or not--I'm going bird watching tomorrow!

Yep, here in NJ it's been pretty uneventful because it's been so cold. We did have some nice weather before the cold rolled back in and the birds were checking out the houses but all that ended when this blast of cold came. I did have some cedar waxwings pass thru which was a welcome site.

Now just the usual, sparrows, juncos, doves, cardinals, chickadees, red breasted nuthatches, red belly peckers, downy peckers, house finches, blue jays and of coarse those dreaded grackels and starlings
