Beaver look alike animal?

On my 1st field trip (birding) yesterday I saw an animal that looks like a Beaver but it wasn't one and now I can't think of what its called. If I heard of the name I'd recognize it. It was a lighter colored then the beaver would be. Any suggestions?

Coypu or Nutria. There used to be a few feral ones in the UK.
