Hi all,
Juv/1st-w Red-backed Shrike seen at the Old Head today:my 2nd in Ireland, but despite the amount of time I spend there I didn't find it!Nice "patch tick",though!
2 Whinchats,2 Whitethroats and a female Blackcap(also a poorly-seen prob.Garden Warbler)were the best otherwise,with no sign of the 1st-w Pied Flycatcher that I had there yesterday.
Things are relatively quiet otherwise, with very few real rarities(RB Shrike is a description sp,but is annual).Wryneck,Yellow Wag,3 Whinchats and 2 Pied Flys reported Cape Clear today, with a Buff-B at Ballycotton.Yesterday a Red-breasted Fly was at Dursey Island and a Baird's Sand was at Shannon.
Hopefully things will pick up next month, they usually do!
