Talking Saw a Hummingbird by birdfeeder!!

So today I noticing a hummingbird that went by our bird feeders outside. I was shocked because I know they don't eat out or bird feeder's. It looked like it was trying to get the food. but I know it couldn't.

It was the first time i've seen a hummingbird in a few years and this year. and go to a bird feeder. we don 't have any hummingbird feeder's because we don't normally get hummingbird's. but we do have hummingbird plants in the front yard!

It may have been collecting insects and/or cobwebs from around the feeder. Hummingbirds often feed on insects, and some use cobwebs for nesting.

We had a very funny time last year...we were watching our red cardinal eating at our feeder when a hummer came up right in the cardinals face checking him out. When he realized he was not a flower he took off. Boy were we laughing!

But, yes, it was probably insects they were after or cobwebs.
