Baby Nighthawk?

I'm new here, so I hope I post this pic right. If this isn't a baby nighthawk, let me know. I've included Mom's?/Dad's? pic too.

Hi Jim and a warm welcome to you from those of us on staff here at BirdForum

My first thought was one of the Nightjars. I could be wrong though. You might want to also post these in the Bird Identification Section here.

Welcome to the forum. Looks like you have a juvenile (and adult) Common Nighthawk. The white on the adults open wing rules out the local nightjars and the placement of the same white bar distinguishes it from the Lesser Nighthawk (which would be slightly out of range in Louisiana). Good photos.
