Question Citizen Band Radio

Hi

I thinking of buying a citizen band radio for my time on Scillies this year. Has anybody got any experience with these and maybe recommend a particular make or model? Another question, I know the Filey regulars all use CB's does anywhere else in the country use them?

Teesciders at least used to - not sure if they still do or not. It is a convenient size area for it, compact in size though with some very long travelling distances involved (North Gare to South Gare is only a mile as the bird flies across the Tees, but 30 miles by road!!). But I think they may have given it up in favour of pagers and mobile phones.

No-one uses it in Northumberland - the straight-line distances involved (e.g. Newcastle to Berwick, 60 miles) are too great for the signal to carry.
