Juvenile Cuckoo, Swiss Alps

Taken in my garden @ 1,035masl just an hour or two ago.

I am going to stick my neck out here, juvenile cuckoo is the only thing I can think of. Making an unholy continuous racket, sort of agrees with Collins Bird Guide except for white patch on nape - except maybe last photo.

I don't see this in my Big Boys Book of Swiss Birds, so am a bit confused. I'll do some more digging, must get some work done first.

I'm sure this is going to be embarassing.

Well all I can say is that she has one heck of a sore throat - I've never heard a blackbird making this racket.

Those I have seen have been browner. Hey-ho, I said it would be embarassing :-)
