Legs recommendation

Can anyone reccommend a good Light weight tripod to use with a Manfrotto 488RC2 ball head. Needs to support a 400mm f5.6 lens + 1.4 tc. Price wise I am willing to pay up to £250 - £300

Thanks

Hi Roy,

I have one for sale, a Cullmann with no head, weighs in at 1.6kGs.

See :
Cullmann Tripod Legs
for full details.

It's also in Classified ads in this forum. It has carried a 5kG telescope with no problems, very stable and sturdy. Of course, the actual load will also depend on the head you use....

LMK anyway.....

Warehouse express have good offers on two of the Velbon carbon fibre range - the CF 530 Pro and CF 630 Pro are both half price. I've been using the 630 for the last six months and found it to be wonderful - very stable, very light and quite tall (essential for me at 195 cm). At £140 it's one of the best value birding/photography items I've ever bought.
