Which Guide?

Hi all
I have already got the Collins guide.
I would like a guide with more in-depth for race, sexing, ageing etc.
Would do people recommend?
Also a hangover cure would be nice aswell

The concise edition of Birds of the Western Paleartic (it's in two volumes) and "Resolve" for the hangover

Virtually impossible to get now at a reasonable price. It would probably be cheaper to pick up single volumes of the full edition - most can be picked up at fairly reasonable prices - try www.bookfinder.com. As for the hangover - hair of the dog!

If you don't mind using the computer then BWPi from Birdguides is pretty good...full text of both the 9 volumes BWP and the 2 volume Concise BWP also the artwork and maps along with a shed load of sound files and videos.

Svensson's guide to Passerines is for ringers but I find it has lots of useful info that can be used by non-ringers. Especially on sexing and ageing. BTO website sells copies
