Help ID, France Bird
Hello,
I've been touring in France and England for almost three month. Back home in Canada, I blocked on this picture for ID. I know it is not the best quality. Despite that it says 2005, the picture was taken on the 30th of july 2006 at Villars-Les-Dombes in France. You can see the picture here . Thank you in advance. Rebecca - Montreal |

Can't really be much else than long-tailed tit.

iIdon't agree. The body is slender and the head too. Long tailed tit has a more rounded and bulky body.
The tail is squared, and the throat black so the bird is a white wagtail. Umberto |

If it's a LTTit, why is there extensive black on lower cheeks and under bill, as well as on crown? White Wag in an odd place for me!

Watch the birdie...

LTT unquestionably.
The pink flush is there on my monitor, and - if you zoom into the image (a very handy Firefox plug-in, this! ) - there's no question about ID. We're looking at a lottie with its head turned away from the camera.

When I first saw the pic, for about 1/100th of a sec, I thought white wagtail. But the tail is WAY too long, and it also has a "fluffyness" to it that you wouln't see in a white wagtail.

Just to say that I understood my mistake and I'm sorry for my previous thought.
