Whinchat (?), Bahrain

I posted the bird at the following link as a whinchat. Due to the state of the molt it's difficult to confirm it and I'd appreciate a second opinion.

Looks like a 1st winter male Pied Wheatear to me, certainly not a Whinchat

Adrian, I have just gone through the whole of your photo gallery {if you havent been there folks go now}...absolutely fantastic photography. On Crete we have man with gun so birds are not so obliging, I also use the Tamron 200-500 but cannot get anywhere near close enough. Keep em coming in.
