Andy while out taking some shots at Eyebrook res yesterday,I noticed in my monitor a icon appear which looked like a green square with dividing line through it,I have looked in the manual but can find no reference to this.Can you help?

I think that is to tell you that the data is being loaded onto the Compact Flash Card and you need to wait for this to finish before taking another shot.

Andrew thank you ,I find that birding and digiscoping I am doing 100 things at once and normally not one is right!!!

Hi all

I just had a look in the manual for my cp4500 & it says to transfer images from the camera make sure Nikonview 5 is installed.My question is do I really need this installed?I ask this because windows xp has it`s own camera wizard that detects when a camera is connected & automatically transfers the images.

I don't use Nikon View at all and it is not loaded on my computer. I use a card reader

Me too , I use a card reader also and in conjunction with Adobe Photoshop Album to quickly file and sort them into some order or delete when I find they are not as good as I thought they were when I press F11 for the full screen view.

I don't use nikon view either, you can use the camera wizard or attach camera go to my comp and you will see the icon for the camera. open and drag file to wherever you require.

One way I have found useful to store the pics,is to copy them all to a disc,and then print of a thumbnail sheet of all on the disc,using XP rather than Elements,much less complicated,and then when trying to find in Photoshop which is which when many can look similiar,is to just refer to the thumbnail print .I also store them together in an Arrow File system.They have the storage pockets for the dics,and with the thumbnails placed opposite in an A4 pocket makes it very simple and saves computer space.This works very well for me,as i may label the folder "swallows"on the pc,but may have taken a few other pics as well,so it saves putting the disc in each time to see exactly what it contains.
