More Namibian Mysteries!

Hi Folks

Not sure whether the owl is a Verreaux's EAgle Owl or a Southern-white faced scops - I couldn't tell at that distance and at night the size of it, but hopefully one of you experts will be able to put me out of my mystery!

The raptor - I have no idea at all!

Thanks in advance
Didi

Hi Didi,

Your owl is definitely a Verreaux's Eagle Owl.

As to the raptor, it is a difficult angle, but I strongly suspect that it is a immature Greater Kestrel from what I can see in the photo.

Kind Regards
Trevor
