What Eyepieces are MCII, MC, DS
Nikon eyepieces does any one know of a web site that shows which of these eleven (11) eyepieces are MCII, or are all of them? If this was posted previously I apologize. I've looked and not had any success in finding the type of coating for each of these lenses.
1) 24/30 wide DS 2) 40/50 wide DS 3) 60/75 wide DS 4) 24x 5) 24x wide 6) 30x wide 7) 40x 8) 40x widw 9) 60x wide 10) 20-45x zoom 11) 20-60x zoom Another question would be if an eyepiece is MC is it equal to an MCII coating? |

Greg,
I think all the other eyepieces except the DSs are called MCII (2nd generation multicoating?). Optically DS & MCII are the same, mechanically DSs have a more simple eyecup design which leaves more eye-relief. Older MC-models are probably no longer available, and some say their anti-reflection coating is noticeably less efficient. Ilkka |
