A one-off special looks at the issues, though tantalisingly it flags up solutions to the problem – bio-butanol jet fuel, more efficient flight routes, carbon offsetting, without weighing them up usefully. Having said that, the preview tape only included filmed inserts from the show and not the studio bits, so perhaps George Monbiot and others will air the issues more fully on the night. One startling quote comes from an aviation mogul in India, that his fast growing airline is buying one aircraft a month for the next 90 months. It's enough to make you cycle.
