Minox are announcing they have launched new "BV" 8x42/10x42 roofs on their website, aimed at the "price-aware outdoor enthusiast". At a glance, they look very like the BLs (except with green armouring instead of black).

The description says they are both waterproof, multicoated and phase corrected - so difficult to see where the cost came out versus the BLs?

Anyone seen them for sale yet?

Hi Keith et al.

The BVs are coming soon but we do not have any dates for them yet.

They are different from the BLs but as yet I'm not at liberty to say why! Sorry! (no smilie for secret things!)

Tech details should follow reasonably soon and the whole product spec will be on the Minox / Newpro website when we have the complete details ourselves and can give any sort of indication of first delivery dates.

More info seems to be coming out today. I'm not sure if the details are correct, but this evening if you hit the "Porro" sub-menu on the website (ie. Minox.com), it brings up what looks like the BV tech data instead of the Porros... if it's right, it looks like the FOV is wider on BVs than the equivalent BLs? (7.4deg for the 8x42 and 6.5deg for the 10x42).
