10x32 FL on its way to me

I just couldn't wait. I found a great price on one of the older, pre-LotuTec, FLs. The fact that it was the older version and the least popular configuration made for a heck of a price.

I'll report and compare to the LXl 8x32 when it arrives. I have an evaluation period and cannot afford to keep both so I will let you know if I am going to make the permanent switch to a 10x32.

EE,

Good luck. Let us know how you will use the glass and if your choice will be based on the utility of each magnification or on the advantages of the manufacturer's design.

Happy bird watching,
Arthur

I have the 8x32 LX and the 10x32 FL. I'll be very interested in your comparison as I have done my own, and also to the 10x42 SE. I don't think you will be disappointed in the FL's.

Arthur, I often like to bird at habitat edges. I learned in an ecology course years ago that a lot if interesting things can be found where habitats and ecosystems intersect. I do not spend a lot of time in deep, deep woodland and when I do it is winter and there is considerably less foliage. In these cases I tend to see birds at medium to medium/long ranges and am looking forward to seeing if the extra satisfies my desire for a slightly better look without losing too much to instability. This is why I chose a 10x32, more stable for me. I chose the FL because it seemed to be the brightest of the bunch. We shall see indeed.

I certainly find that observation to be true.

The same reason I bought my 10x32 FL, as well as for its wide field. However, I like to use it with a rather stable 7x42.

Happy bird watching,
