Pentax AF540 Flash & the Better Beamer
Hi everyone from Hawaii, new user with a question for you.
I got a Pentax AF540 flash for use with my K10D and I was wondering if anyone had any experience with using a flash extender like the "Better Beamer" with this flash? I really want to increase the effective range of my flash so I can get pictures of birds in the understory of the trees we have here. On a recent trip to Hawaii Island I was frustrated by the inability of my flash to give me higher shutter speeds (note: the largest and southern most island is called Hawaii, or the name Hawaii can refer to the whole island chain.) |

Sorry, have no experience with that flashgun myself, you may be better off asking here; http://www.pentaxuser.co.uk/ although we are a UK forum we dont mind "outsiders" in fact we have quite a few members from other countries. I am sure someone there will answer your question within hours of posting.

Thank you. I already ordered it after talking to the manufacturer. They said that the AF540 is actually too big for the largest model of the Better Beamer. However, the FX-2 model can be easily modified at the price of nullifying the warranty. I figured why not. I will try to post a report of my experience with it once I get it figured out.
