Immature Male Wood Duck, Aix sponsa

I spotted this young male Wood Duck surrounded by Mallards on my walk at Lake Murray, CA, this morning 10-25-02. His parents were nearby but I couldn't get a good picture of them. I do have a fair photo of a pair of Wood Ducks from 9/18 which I'll post next so you can compare the males. Nikon CoolPix 775 DigCam 6X Optical Zoom.
