Zeiss eye relief

Does the 16mm eye relief in 7x and 8x FL's work ok with eye glasses? Thanks.

I've tested the 7X42 and 8X42 FL's. Eye relief on both is EXCELLENT...for those encumbered with eyeglasses.

I have used both with glasses without problems but things will differ between individual users and , for example, the kind of glasses they use. The 7 x 42 certainy exceeds 16mm and has superb eye-relief. Other than the Nikon 8/10 x 42 HGLs, I have not tried a pair of bins with better eye-relief than the 7 x 42 FLs

I wear prescription glasses that stick out a good 35mm from the tops of my eyes, and the Zeiss FL's work just fine. They seem to have better eye relief than the old Baush & Lomb Elites that I own, which supposedly have longer eye relief (they were advertised to have about 20mm eye relief). My eye glasses are old, slightly out of focus, and generally lack a lot to be desired. But as for my Zeiss FL's - I wouldn't trade them in for anything else.

Concur with all of the above. I don't even wear glasses, but find the eye relief in my Fls an attractive enough feature compared to my other alpha bins to favor them in many viewing situations. VERY comfortable viewing, and I confess -- I bought them as a hedge against someday possibly having to wear glasses. Now that's planning!

Edited to add: By the way, I'm even speaking about the 10x42 FLs.

I agree, Nikon seems to have the eye-cups and relief under control (at east for my eyes). I used a pair of 10x42 LXLs for a few days and they were the most comfortable binos I can rememeber using as far as how my eye meets the bino. They have the smoothest focusing control I've ever used too. Made the Swaros someone else had seem crude.

Cheers,
Craig R
