John,

If the 10D turns up tomorrow as Jessops say it should then I have only waited about two and a half weeks since I first wrote to them. Don't know if paying for it on the Jessop card speeded the delivery up though!

From Geoff,

Yes the 10D turned up today. A solid well built job from Canon and my first picture of the tele in the living room corner looks quite sharp. Now I have two "novels" to read. The 183 page 10d camera instruction manual and then the 74 page software installation manual. I still have to learn how to upload a picture onto this site so could be some time yet. I hope to picture the two rats who have just decided to swarm up my feeder pole in the garden looking for titbits. Two I don't mind but if any more appear the air rifle will be coming out of retirement.

I finally have the Digital Rebel. I purchased it about a week ago at a local shop and ordered the lens from across the country. The lens arrived yesterday, and I have taken nearly four hundred pictures. With the 400mm plus the 1.6 multiplier facter, I have been amazed at the reach I can get. This is my first 'real' camera and compared to the 3X zoom on my parents' digital camera, it is amazing! It was well worth it! I have read the camera instruction manual, and will probably just skim through the software manual, if that.

Now that I have both cameras, I would like to retract my statement about the one wheel :) . The layout of the 10D to me is better and having the second wheel is much easier than having to hold a button and turn a wheel. I like the layout of the 10D much better. There are other differences as well that I was not aware of such as mirror lockup and setting custome functions for buttons. Definitely worth the extra money IMHO.

The Digital Rebel is still a great setup. It has been passed on to my 3 year old daughter who handles it quite well and there is nothing like looking over while Im shooting and seeing her taking pictures of me and anything else she can find :)
