What flycatcher ?? - Playa Del Rey, CA - USA

Seen today at the Ballona Marsh.

Small little flycatcher. Cant see it in the picture, but bird has strong white eye ring.

Only got the one photo.

I'm leaning towards a Hammond's Flycatcher.

Yellow belly plus vested breast makes me think Hammond's as well.

Thanks Alex.

I'm gonna list it as a Hammond's Flycatcher.

Hey PONYRCR,

Do you have a larger image that you can post? Your bird is clearly an Empidonax flycatcher, but the camera angle and image size make the species identification rather problematic in my opinion.

And how about Street Sense in the Derby?

Chris

Sorry Chris I only have the one picture. I can enlarge it but then it gets very pixelated.

Street Sense was not who I thought would win, or who I wanted to win. But he is a worthy Derby winner, having been 2 yr old champion last year. That being said I hope he doesn't win the Preakness, if for no other reason I can't afford a trip to New York this year. I've been to New York for the Belmont twice in the past in hopes of seeing a Triple Crown winner. This year there is just no way I can squeeze it into my budget.
