And present in Tangier which is only about 30km from Spain where it has occured as a vagrant (Algeciras June 87) Could it be about to colonise Europe?

I thought this was now a separate species from striolata. Sahari remains House Bunting and striolata renamed Mountain Bunting? Was split a couple of years ago I think???

Hi everyone,

The House Bunting is now a breeder in Tangier. Last year (and this year too) we saw more than a dozen of birds all together in Tangier Medina (=ancient town) with juvinules with them. The observation was published in Birding World, vol. 19, no. 6, 2006. The artcle's name is "Is House Bunting about to colonise Europe?"
