Interesting behaviour - what do you think about it?

I saw this "beach" behaviour for several times - but only at Great Tits. Do you know an explanation for this? Maybe a methode to eliminate some parasites from feathers?

Could be sunning, or else as you've said, "dusting" itself to get rid of parasites.

Very good pic's, I would presume they are sun bathing as there doesn't seem to be any dust in the pic, and it does look quite sunny!

Anting? I do not see the ants, though.

You're right. I was a sunbath but not after a bath. The birds had not been wet before. As I said, I think that is a method to distroy some parasites.

Sunbathing doesn't have to involve water! You can often see birds just spread out on a lawn enjoying a bit of sun, as has been said already it helps remove parasites.
