The GREAT quiz
Please don't post your answers straight away. Some folks want to play and they don't see the questions until they get home from work (or wake up if they live overseas) and Michael has usually answered them and disected them!!
 I think these are alot easier than some of late. The Great Quiz, All these questions are Great 1. King of Prussa 1740 to 1786? 2. Coral growth visible from space? 3. Jerry Lee Lewis boasted about these? 4. You might see this on a UK bird table? 5. A series of large bodies of water in North America? 6. Tallest of the Canines? 7. Celebrated by the Monument? 8. Ineffectual oriental fortification? 9. Largest of the British isles? 10. Built in 1856 and designed by Brunel, the largest ship at the the time? 11. Diving bird with elaborate courting display? 12. Son of Philip II of Macedon? 13. Village 1 mile west of Walsingham, Norfolk? 14. In 1851, over six million people visited this? 15. Coastal town near the broads 16. Avian, always head banging? 17. I think I can do all of them except for 13 and 18. I have an idea on 13 but having consulted a map (and leaving aside that there are two villages with Walsingham in their name in Norfolk) I'm thinking that the directions in the clue are a little wayward. 'Great' quiz indeed though.

I thought Great-crested Grebe for 11 too - although Great northern Diver seems equally right.
