Plain-backed Sunbird (Anthreptes reichenowi)
In east Africa this small coastal sunbird is restricted to primary & mature secondary evergreen forests. It is frequently found in mixed species feeding flocks where it associates with Monarch flycatchers, Batis, Black-headed Apalis & other sunbirds. In east africa this species is confined to Arabuko-Sokoke forest & the Shimba hills in Kenya, extending into the eastern Usambaras in Tanzania.

These pictures of an adult male were taken in Arabuko-Sokoke forest near Watamu in Kenya.
