Quiz IV Natural World~Historical

Here is another quiz for you all of both historical nature and the natural world.

1. In Roman times, the British city of York was known by this name.
2. What is the Sea Unicorn properly known as.
3. Where was the early European Minoan civilisation centred.
4. Which animal was first introduced to the UK in 1876.
5. The Spanish conquistadore Francisco Pizzaro is renowned in history for the destruction of which civilisation.
6. What green scourge covoured everything in the UK summer of 1979.
7. The death of a great empire builder in the year 323 BC.
8. Why is the squirting cucumber so called.
9. The ancient Celtic name for Cornwall.
10. Boreal is the opposite of Austral, as Oriental is the opposite of what.

Well, I know I should have put a posting date on this quiz!!! Another larger and harder assorted one on it's way though

4. Which animal was first introduced to the UK in 1876.
Grey Squirrel.
5. The Spanish conquistadore Francisco Pizzaro is renowned in history for the destruction of which civilisation.
Inca's.
6. What green scourge covoured everything in the UK summer of 1979.
Aphids or Greenfly.
7. The death of a great empire builder in the year 323 BC.
Alexander.
8. Why is the squirting cucumber so called.
The fruits build up pressure when ripe until they shoot off their stalks, squirting their seeds everywhere.
9. The ancient Celtic name for Cornwall.
Kernow.
10. Boreal is the opposite of Austral, as Oriental is the opposite of what.

I simply wanted Insect.

An Owl, specifically Athene noctua the Little Owl.
