Announcing the September 2007 theme challenge winners - Insects
One of the highest quality of entries we've had this month. The runaway winner belies the overall very high standard of entries. The total number of votes cast was a little disappointing though.
From the 89 entries 30 were selected for inclusion in the voting booth. 108 members cast their vote. The outright winner was Th. Stegmann with DON'T PANIC with 25/108 votes. This entry led right from the start. It had everyhting going for it - technically very good, an interesting pose and humour thrown in. 2nd place Glareole with Hummingbird Hawkmoth with 10/108 votes. Joint third with 8/108 votes were Paul Corfield with Chalkhill Blue unfolding wings. and deshojo with Crab spider devouring hoverfly. Congratulations to each of you Entries will remain in place a few days before being moved to their respective forums.

Congrats to the winner, and well done to the runners up.It still seems strange that there is such a high membership on BF ,yet only 108 members take the time and effort to vote.Even if one has not submitted an entry,or has not made it into the final placings ,it would be good to support those who have made the effort.

Congratulations to Th. Stegmann and the rest of the competitors. I was hoping my favorite would place high, but alas it was throughly beaten by a hitchhiking praying mantis. Oh well, there is alway next year.

Congratulations, to the winner and runners up, and all others who made the effort to participate, I am not surprised at the meager effort to vote though, unfortunately it's a fact of life, people don't care or are simply plain lazy. The main reason for this being my first composition, and probably my last. Ernie

Perhaps people are to intimidated to comment on photos or voting, but that should not keep you from posting another photo in the gallery or competing in monthly competitions. You had the attention of the hundred+ most enthusiatic gallery posters in the forum, and that means something.

Congratulations Th. Stegmann on a well deserved win. As stated before, this was a hard comp to vote for - the 30 finalists were all great shots.

My congratulations to the other winners, and my thanks to those who made the effort to vote for me, it is very much appreciated.
I'm delighted to make it onto the podium, particularly as the standard of entries was so high. Cheers, Matt |
