I think it's that low, red sunlight that's confusing, causing the warmish tones that suggest Golden rather than Grey.

Thanks all for taking part;it is a Grey Plover,taken at Titchwell RSPB last Wednesday.
As Alastair suggested,I took it as the sun was setting,which introduced a 'buffy' tone to the colouration.
