Question Bird Word Jumble

Another go at one of these...

The following 63 words can (in only one way I hope!!!) be combined to form 20 species.

As usual I have used my "official" list, and have split hyphenated words into their parts, but I have not split non-hyphenated words.

Here you go...

AND, AND, BELLIED, BILLED, BILLED, BILLED, BILLED, BLACK, BREASTED, BUFF, BUFF, BUSH, CAPPED, CASQUED, CHESTNUT, CHESTNUT, COMMON, COMMON, CUCKOO, CUCKOO, DACNIS, DACNIS, DIAMOND, DOVE, DOVE, FINCH, FINCH, FIRETAIL, FRONTED, GREEN, GREY, GREY, GREY, GROUND, HEADED, HORNBILL, HORNBILL, LIKE, LIKE, LIKE, MYNA, MYNA, OROPENDOLA, OROPENDOLA, PEG, PITTA, QUAIL, QUAIL, ROLLER, SHARPBILL, SHRIKE, SLENDER, TANAGER, TANAGER, THRUSH, THRUSH, TIT, TURQUOISE, TYRANT, WHITE, WOODPECKER, WREN, WRITHED

Birdman,I have printed off your list and will have a go,may take a little while,a couple of days!!,but will not return to the thread until I have had a try,but I have never heard off a bird called "tanager" so I presume that is a jumble.Off to sort out dinner for a hungry hubby, then I'll have a try.
Christine.

Hi Birdman,
I messed up somehow on my first try, but I think that my second try might be right.

Here it goes:

Peg-billed Finch
Thrush-like Wren
Tit-like Dacnis
Pitta-like Ground-Roller
Sharpbill
Common Myna
Finch-billed Myna
Common Bush-Tanager
Black-and-white-casqued Hornbill
Grey-and-buff Woodpecker
Buff-fronted Quail-Dove
Grey-bellied Shrike-Tyrant
Turquoise Dacnis-Tanager
Slender-billed Cuckoo-Dove
Green Oropendola
Chestnut-headed Oropendola
Diamond Firetail
Writhed-billed Hornbill
Grey-capped Cuckoo
Chestnut-breasted Quail-thrush

The list I was using showed Writhed-billed Hornbill as Writhe-billed Hornbill. This caused a few problems. For my second try I used the list provided for the GBBC 2, and it worked better.

Michael

At first sight, that looks about right to me Michael...

I'll check it against the answer when I get home!

Aaargh! So close, and yet . . . I worked out all the names, but had "Writhed Hornbill" (felt-pretty good finding that one; in the Sibley List in Birder's Diary 2.5, that bird was called White-headed Hornbill; in the Traditional List, Writhed, but not Writhed- or Writhe-billed shows up), and an extra "Billed" left over. When I finally gave up, and looked at Michael's answers (well done, Michael, by the way! ) I did a search for "Writhed-BILLED Hornbill," and found that it was listed in another reference (M.G. Wells' World Species Checklist) as an alternative name for either the Rufous-headed Hornbill or the above-mentioned Writhed / White-headed Hornbill. Ah, well, I am inspired to seek yet more diligently. Thanks, Birdman, for the diversions -- even though it has cost me more sleep than I can afford to lose!
