Lord Howe Woodhen (Rail)

There are 2 pictures that seem to have gone unnoticed yesterday in the gallery. I added a comment to alert a Mod, but I don't think anyone's seen it. There's only one image in the gallery and opus of this rather rare species.

two more or not quite

I have added two more to the gallery, actually one new species: Christmas Island Imperial-Pigeon:
http://www.birdforum.net/gallery/sho...8/limit/recent

And one race, the quite distinctive golden (Christmas Island) form of the White-tailed Tropicbird:

http://www.birdforum.net/gallery/sho...3/limit/recent

and

http://www.birdforum.net/gallery/sho...2/limit/recent

The regular white plumage occurs there as well, and there seem to be many mixed pairs. Thus it's clear it's only a race or even just a color variant. A very nice one however.

Sorry that I could not get them any closer. They were so fast and my camera only managed to get them in focus when there was a bit more time due to the distance.

I have some more pictures, not necessarily new species. But 3 per 24 h is the rule.

Hi Robert

That rule needn't apply if they're new species for Opus - just make sure you add "For Opus" to the title when uploading.

And another one found: Rusty-backed Spinetail

André

PS: It's worth to check the pictures of photographers with lots of South American birds. We are pretty good in Asia, but we lack lots of species from South America.

Edenwatcher had a grand holiday in Madagascar:

Crossley's Babbler

Pollen's Vanga

Velvet Asity

Forest Rock-Thrush

... and he'd only just started LOL. Hopefully there'll be more to follow.

Wonderful, I can't wait to see them. I'm starting to learn about the South American Birds as my first trip to the Neotropics (to Peru, maybe later to Colombia) will take place next year...

Helmeted Woodpecker from Intervales. Also deleted the "no recent records" in South Brazil as this record seems to be very recent

Found 21 pages which were placed in the "missing images" category but which had a photo! The trick was to do a search with "missing images photo by".

So another 21 closer to the big goal!
