    These large hornbills can be found in Central and Southern Kenya, they usually prefer forests but many have even adapted to gardens and city parks.

    I was amazed to see a flock of 25-30 birds of this species flying from tree to tree.

    An adult male. Can't help but be impressed by the eyelashes on these large forest hornbills!

    The best views of these large forest hornbills are obtained at canopy-level. This is an adult male eating figs ......and given his size and diet there is clear advantage to avoiding viewing from below!!!

    The largest of the three Arabuko forest hornbills. This impressive bird produces loud braying calls much like a demented donkey. The pictured bird is a male having silvery feathering to the bill base & a large casque.
