    This bird was nesting in the Acer rubrum and Fraxinus nigra forest (wooded fen vegetation) of the lagg of a raised bog. The forest had a thick understory of Alnus rugosa and Ilex verticillata.

    I love to hear the song of the Veery...but they usually hide in the deeper woods, so I rarely get to see them...I was so happy to not only hear, but see this one and get his photo!!!

    After more than a year since finding one of these cuties, I saw one for the second time earlier this month. I was so elated, especially when this shot was taken.

    Was watching a pair of American Robins eating worms from the lawn, and I noticed some movement in the extreme right-hand side of my eyes. I looked and saw this bird. Needless to say, I was quite surprised to see two different thrushes in one day!
