1st winter Smew? Central Sweden 24th October (1 Viewer)

I thought this duck looked interesting so I took a couple of pictures. . It looked a bit like a Goosander but was much smaller. After looking in the guide I think a first winter Smew is a good match. Am I correct?
It was at the local boat club and I saw Smew there in January. Adult males are easier to ID though.

Certainly a Smew Graham, not sure how easy it is in late October to differentiate between Ist winter and adult female though…
