2 singing Dunn's Lark near Merzouga (1 Viewer)

Dunn’s Larks in 2019

As most of you already knew, the Dunn’s Larks are back at Merzouga: three birds found a few days ago.

The likely split of African & Middle Eastern Dunn's is another good reason for the extra effort!

Of course, the species is already split by HBW Alive, but surprisingly not yet by the IOC Checklist.

Dear all,

Checking the dates of the first sightings of Dunn's Lark in north Morocco in 2010, I think we were the "discoverers": Álvaro Díaz Pastor, María Llorente Corcobado, Javier Seoane Pinilla, Alicia Navajas Martínez and Sara Celorio.

Ernst Albegger and his colleagues saw the bird on april 14th and Raül Aymí and Eladi Ribes photographed one on 10th. We saw one bird there on april 1th, 10 days before Raul and Eladi, but we understood that the bird was already known.

Some pictures of 2010, taken on april 10th.
