Two juvenile water birds were swimming on one of our ponds between the reeds. They were rather skittish, and I didn't want to disturb them too much, so this is the best photo I got. Also, no adults were around. Occam's razor says its mallards, but they look a tad dark when comparing with images from the interwebs. Hence, I'd be happy for some expert input.
